2016-2018 District Advisory Council (DAC) Elections
The District Advisory Council (DAC) Chairperson is pleased to announce the 2016-2018 DAC Elections, and is soliciting candidates to run on the ballot for the following officer positions:
- Chairperson (Parent)
- 1st Vice Chairperson (Parent)
- 2nd Vice Chairperson (Parent)
- 3rd Vice Chairperson (Parent)
- Secretary (M-DCPS Staff)
- Assistant Secretary (Parent)
Attached to this correspondence is the 2016-2018 Candidate Information Packet (.pdf). Please disseminate this information among all parents, and post the packet in the main office, Parent Resource Center or parent area.
Parents or employees interested in any of the DAC positions listed above must submit the required documentation by the established deadline of Wednesday, March 9, 2016. If all requirements of the position for which a candidate applies are met, the candidate’s name will be added to the official ballot. The DAC Elections for the 2016-2018 term will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Southwest Miami Senior High School.

P.E.R.T Parent Letter (.pdf)
This letter serves as notification that your student will be taking the Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (P.E.R.T.) during the month of March. This is a computer-based test aimed at measuring your child’s college readiness. The test scores will impact which courses each student will need to take during the student’s 12th grade year.

2010-11 Notification of FL PIRC of FND (.pdf)
The Florida Parental Information and Resource Center of Family on Disabilities Network (FND), is a U.S. Department of Education grant-funded PIRC.The FL PIRC of FND provides free training resources and assistance to parent, schools and communities to help promote effective parental involvement and family engagement practices.
Faith-Based Initiative (.pdf)
The FL PIRC of FND utilizes Faith-Based and Community Outreach efforts and strategies to reach and engage parents who may not be reached by traditional parental involvement efforts.
