National Career Academy Coalition Model

The Health Academy at Turner Tech provides an excellent education for high school students who want to make a difference in the ever-advancing and demanding field of health care. The Academy's programs provides several diverse career paths which prepares students for employment or advance training in the health occupations industry for a wide variety of medical professions with job-related training and a solid academic curriculum including National Industry certification.

Students receive hands-on training in Turner Tech's well-equipped training labs and classrooms with pediatrics and human patient simulators.

They serve as interns at health care sites, such as local hospitals, laboratories, medical offices, pharmacies, and medical libraries.

Students attending the Health Academy can earn much more than grades and a high school diploma; they can also receive college credit and industry-recognized certification in more than one field.

The Health Academy offers students the opportunity to join national professional organizations, such as Health Occupation Students of America and the National Association of Health Unit Coordinators.

Home Health Aide

The HHA program allows students to focus their studies toward caring for patients in their own homes or residential facilities.

EKG Technician

EKG Tech program allows students to electrocardiogram which assist physicians in diagnosing as well as treating cardiovascular aliments. Students learn how to operate the EKG equipment, and are responsible for the total carte of test devices and equipments.

Vision Care Assisting

In the Vision program students learn to handle equipment related to the ophthalmic industry. Students are trained to become Vision Care Assistants with the ability to provide basic services such as fabrication of eyewear, fitting of contact lenses, and assist Opticians, Optometrist, and Ophthalmologist in ophthalmic medical procedures.

Nursing Assistant / Introduction To Practical Nursing

The Nursing field of study is an excellent choice for students wishing to enter the fastest growing area of the medical industry. With so many options available in this one field, students are able to apply their learned abilities to select the nursing field that best suits their interest professional.

Medical Laboratory Sciences

The Medical Lab program is one of the most technologically concise programs available. Students learn to operate advanced medical technology in a learning environment, allowing a unique experience found here at Turner Tech.

First Responder

The First Responder program prepares students to provide initial care to sick or injured persons or as ambulance drivers and attendants. Students receive primary training for treating and transporting the injured.
