National Career Academy Coalition Certified

The Academy of Finance at Turner Tech bridges the gap between the classroom and the workplace. It gives high school students an opportunity to realize their own potential, develop career skills, and establish personal goals. In addition to required academic high school courses, students take specialized courses. Our students receive a well-founded curriculum in finance including Finance and Business Technology, Accounting, Financial Operations, and Personal Financial Planning. The Academy infuses curriculum provided by the National Academy Foundation (NAF) into the Florida state curriculum. Students participate in enrichment and hands-on activities that expand and reinforce the classroom.

Once students become proficient, the academy provides them with opportunities to apply their skills and enables them to interact with business leaders within the community through job shadows, mentorships, internships, and on-the-job training (OJT).

The Finance Academy is certified by the National Career Academy Coalition, the National Academy Foundation (NAF), and is also certified under the Career and Profession Education Act (CAPE) offering students industry certification in Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS).

DECA

The Distributive Educational Clubs of America (DECA) is the Academy of Finance's official Career Technical student Organization. Its purpose is to provide students with an in-depth and highly interactive experience in the field of Finance as they work cooperatively with their peers and the business

What is NAF?

The National Academy Foundation (NAF) is a non-profit educational organization. NAF was created in 1989 to reach out to students in response to the growing interest from private corporations and the business community to become involved in the education of America's youth. Today, NAF combines the resources of business, government, schools and their communities to bring high school students a multifaceted, relevant educational experience. More than 450 corporations, civic agencies, non-profit organizations and small businesses have joined NAF offering students a choice about their futures. Over 90% of NAF graduates go on to college.
